Practical training (related to first aid, for example) forms part of annual electrical safety training. See section 91 of the activities regulations concerning work on and operation of electrical installations.

Failure to complete training must be treated as a nonconformity. See section 22 of the management regulations on handling of nonconformities.

Compensatory measures adopted as a result of the nonconformity – see section 22 above – must ensure that safety can continue to be maintained in a prudent manner when working on and operating electrical installations.

Such compensatory measures may include the use of web-based training. Efforts must be made to ensure speedy implementation of the practical training now being postponed once the current position has been normalised.
