The drilling location is north-west of the Mikkel field and around 105 kilometres from Froan in Trøndelag.
Well 6407/3-2 S, named “Lanterna”, has the following geographical coordinates:
- 64° 45' 25.74" N
- 07° 49' 35.52" E
Water depth at the site is 237 metres.
Drilling of the well is scheduled to start in early July 2019. The drilling operations are expected to last 45 days.
The well is to be drilled by West Hercules which is a semi-submersible mobile drilling facility built in South Korea in 2008. It is owned and operated by North Atlantic Management AS.
