Consent for operation of the Vigdis field expires on 9 March 2024. In order to recover the remaining reserves from the field, Equinor, the operator, has applied for consent to extend the operating life of the facilities on the field.

We have now granted consent for the use of the facilities on the Vigdis field until 31 December 2040.

Vigdis

Vigdis is a field located in the Tampen area in the northern part of the North Sea, between the Snorre, Statfjord and Gullfaks fields. The water depth in the area is 280 metres. Vigdis was discovered in 1986, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 1994. The field has been developed with seven subsea templates and two satellite wells connected to the Snorre A facility. Production started in 1997.
