Well 6506/5-1 S belongs to production licence 1008, for which Aker BP is the operator. The well had been given the prospect name of “Nidhogg”. The well is in the Norwegian Sea, around 47 km north of Åsgard B and 52 km southwest of Skarv.

Water depth at the site is 442 metres.
The work is scheduled to begin in November/December 2019 and is expected to last for 27 days.
The well is to be drilled using the Deepsea Nordkapp mobile drilling facility, which is a semi-submersible facility of the Moss Maritime CS 60E type, owned and operated by Odfjell Drilling.
The facility was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the PSA in April 2019.
