The audit was conducted on 22 March 2022.

About the project

Discovery 6506/11-10 (Hades-Iris) is located on the Halten Bank in the Norwegian Sea about 23 kilometres south-east of the Åsgard field. The discovery belongs to production licence 644 B, for which OMV is the operator.

The plan for development and operation (PDO) is expected to be submitted at the end of 2022. The planned development concept is a subsea tieback to the Åsgard B facility.

Background

The work that the companies undertake to plan and execute projects is important for the quality, safety and the working environment of the finished product.

In the audit, emphasis was placed on:

  • Maturation of the concept solution for the working environment, safe start-up and operation
  • Transfer of experience
  • Contract strategy, staffing, organisation, capacity and competence
  • Interface with host facility
  • Follow-up and quality assurance of engineering
  • Realism of objectives and ambitions

Objective

The objective of the audit was to verify that the project is carried out in accordance with the HSE regulations and that OMV’s project management ensures that, during the planning phase, the company reduces risk, safeguards the working environment and prevents accidents in the start-up and operational phases.

Result

The audit identified one non-conformity related to arrangements for employee participation, and one improvement point related to verification of suppliers prior to contract award.

What happens now?

We have asked OMV to report by 10 May 2022 on how the non-conformity will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement point observed.
