The audit was conducted between 4 and 8 October 2021 and must be seen in the context of the audit of the onshore organisation carried out in 2020. The report on that audit is available here.

Objective

The objective of the audit was to ensure that Equinor's management of technical barriers at Snorre A, particularly within technical safety, process safety and risk management, complies with the authorities' requirements.

Result

Five non-conformities were identified during the audit. These concerned:

  • Passive fire protection
  • Operational barriers
  • Event notification procedure
  • Factors with a potential to affect explosion risk
  • Non-conformity handling

Three improvement points were also identified. These concerned:

  • Open drainage
  • Maintenance system
  • Documentation

What happens now?

We have asked Equinor to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed. We have also requested the company's assessment of the improvement points observed. The reply deadline is set at 1 March 2022.
