The audit was conducted from 1 to 4 February 2022.
The background to the audit was the examination of activities completed and in progress to rebuild the plant following the fire in September 2020 and to prepare the plant for start-up. Emphasis was placed on the status of barriers important for start-up.
We also wanted to see how the plant is using this and other incidents to learn lessons.
The objective of the audit was to verify that Equinor has activities and systems in place that will return the facility to a safe state for start-up.
The audit identified one non-conformity concerning:
- Deficient updating of governing documents
We also observed one factor that we have chosen to categorize as an improvement point. This concerned:
- Heating cable installations
What happens now?
We have asked Equinor to report by 8 April 2022 on how the non-conformity will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement point observed.
