The audit was carried out from 24 to 26 August 2021.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to follow up plans, solutions and working environment risks in the decommissioning and removal phases of the Slagentangen refinery. We wanted to examine how Esso is managing the decommissioning and removal process and ensuring that technical integrity and working environment risks for the personnel involved are addressed in all phases.
Result
One non-conformity was identified during the audit, relating to decision support and analyses.
In addition, three improvement points were identified, relating to:
- Inadequate marking in the plant
- Governing documents
- Inspection and maintenance strategy
What happens now?
We have asked Esso to report on how the non-conformity will be addressed. We have also requested their assessment of the improvement points identified. The deadline for this is set at 12 November 2021.
