The audit took place from 12 to 14 November 2019.

Gassco is the operator of Nyhamna, while Norske Shell is the technical service provider.

Objective

The objective of the audit of the management of working environment risk was to monitor how risk to health in the working environment at the plant is managed so as to ensure a safe working environment for the company’s and contractors’ employees.

The objective of the major accident audit was to confirm that Nyhamna has established and implemented a strategy in compliance with section 7 of the Major Accident Regulations.

We also wanted to assess how employee participation at the plant is organised.

We also followed up previous findings from audits at Nyhamna.

Result

The audit identified non-conformities relating to the following:

  • Analyses of the working environment
  • Overall assessment of working environment risk
  • Representation of the employer’s and employees’ sides on the working environment committee

What happens now?

We have asked Gassco to report by 21 August 2020 on how the non-conformities will be addressed.

Nyhamna

Nyhamna gas processing plant is located in Aukra municipality, Møre og Romsdal.

The facility was built to receive and process the gas from the Ormen Lange field in the Norwegian Sea, but has now been expanded to receive gas arriving through the Polarled pipeline from the Aasta Hansteen and Dvalin fields and potential future developments further north in the Norwegian Sea.
