Background
The background to the audit was our case processing of the plan for development and operation (PDO) and previous follow-up of the project. Quality at all stages of planning, engineering, fabrication and installation is key to dealing with potential major accident risk in operations and to obtain facilities that are safe in the operational phase.

Objective
The aim of the activity was to ensure that the fabrication of the subsea production system and wellhead for Johan Sverdrup phase 2 meets Equinor's requirements and the requirements in the regulations. We also wanted to verify that the project is fulfilling its supervisory duty in respect of the supplier.
Result
The audit identified three areas with potential for improvement. These areas are qualification requirements for onsite representatives, quality of deliveries, and competence and qualification.
What happens now?
We have asked Equinor for their assessment of the improvement points observed. The deadline for this is set at 1 September 2020.
