AKOFS has applied for an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) for the AKOFS Seafarer mobile drilling facility.
In connection with an AoC application, the PSA conducts audits within selected specialist domains.
From XX to 16 June 2020, we carried out an audit of the management and follow-up of well intervention activities on AKOFS Seafarer.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify the technical condition, organisation, operational preparations and degree of completion of the facility and relevant documents in the management system. The audit included investigating the company’s compliance with requirements in regulations, standards and its own procedures.
Result
Two non-conformities were identified in connection with:
- Storage of explosives
- Storage of radioactive sources
In addition, two improvement points were identified, relating to:
- Maintenance management
- Oversight in the manifold area
What happens now?
We have asked AKOFS to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and for their assessment of the improvement points observed.
The reply deadline is set at 10 July 2020.
Before we issue an AoC, the company must have corrected all known safety-critical non-conformities, and the facility must have been issued with maritime certificates from the appropriate flag state.
