Objective

From 5 to 7 April and from 24 to 26 April 2017, we carried out an audit of Statoil's management of maintenance of the Veslefrikk A and B facilities.

This audit is one of a series performed under the auspices of the North Sea Offshore Authority Forum (NSOAF).

The series is entitled "Maintaining safe and efficient operations" and focuses on maintenance management on late-life facilities.

The object is to safeguard relevant experience transfer and learning between the NSOAF member countries. It is planned to publish a summary report of the audit series in 2018.

The purpose of the audit was to monitor that Statoil's maintenance management of Veslefrikk A and B complies with the regulations and the company's own requirements.

Results

The audit found two regulatory non-conformities. These relate to defective maintenance strategy and safety strategy, and competence.

One improvement point was also identified. This related to maintenance history.

We have asked Statoil to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed by 25 August 2017.
