From 9 to 11 May 2017, we carried out an audit of how Eni Norge ensures compliance with the authorities' requirements within barrier management in the case of modifications to safety instrumented systems.
Objective
This audit was a sub-activity of an audit series aimed at Eni's management of risk and prevention of unintended incidents and accident on the Goliat FPSO. The audit series will be ongoing throughout 2017.
Major activities are planned in relation to modifications at Goliat. These modifications also cover safety instrumented systems.
The audit was conducted in the form of meetings, presentations and interviews with project coordinators at the Goliat operational organisation at Hammerfest and interviews with technical staff at Eni's head office in Stavanger.
Result
The audit identified one regulatory non-conformity. This concerned deficiencies in the planning of work processes. One improvement point was also identified in relation to gas detection.
We have asked Eni to report on how the non-conformity will be addressed and for an assessment of the improvement point identified by 31 August 2017.
