Objective

The objective of the audit was to verify that the operator, drilling contractor and well service companies are meeting statutory regulations and the company's internal requirements.

Result

Non-conformities were identified in connection with:

  • Chemical working environment
  • Maintenance
  • Emergency pumps

In addition, improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • Competence
  • OHAS management
  • Safe Job Analyses (SJA)
  • Training
  • Co-training of drilling personnel
  • Drilling programme and schedules
  • Well control
  • Technical solutions
  • Well integrity

Wintershall has been given a deadline of 25 January 2016 to report on how the non-conformities and improvement points will be dealt with.

Brage

Brage is a field in the northern part of the North Sea, ten kilometres east of the Oseberg field. The water depth in the area is 140 metres. Brage was discovered in 1980, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 1990. The field has been developed with an integrated production, drilling and accommodation facility with a steel jacket. Production started in 1993.
