Objective

The objective of the audit was to verify that regulatory provisions are being complied with, with special emphasis of the parts of the company's management system that comprise the roles, responsibilities and duties of the personnel responsible for electrical plant during its design engineering, operation, modification and maintenance. Testing and maintenance of barriers, so as to ensure the barriers' functionality throughout the lifetime of the facility, were an important aspect of the verifications performed on board.Songa Dee is a semi-submersible drilling facility constructed in 1984. The facility is operated by Songa Offshore (Songa). The facility received Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in 2009.

Result

Non-conformities were identified in connection with:

  • Personnel responsible for electrical plant
  • Emergency lighting
  • Electrical plant – technical conditions
  • Performance of modifications
  • Frost protection of fire mains

Improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • Maintenance management
  • Emergency shutdown system
  • The usage of CO2 firefighting system
  • Firefighting system in the anchor cables 
  • Performance standards
  • Temporary equipment
  • Use of recognised standards
