In certain circumstances, the facilities at Oseberg can be struck by waves crashing on the decks. The objective of the audit was to verify that this has been documented in compliance with the regulations.

Oseberg is an oil field with an overlying gas cap. It is in the northern part of the North Sea. Water depth in the area is approx. 100 metres.

Result

One non-conformity was identified in connection with verification of specifications.

In addition, two improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • Use of new knowledge
  • Use of sensitivity analyses

Non-conformity:

Entails that a condition is assessed as not complying with a regulatory requirement.

Improvement point:

Entails that we have identified a deficiency or weakness, without there being sufficient grounds for determining a breach of regulatory requirements.

Statoil has been given a deadline of 29 November 2015 to report on how the non-conformity and improvement points will be dealt with.
