Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify that Statoil's control and management of cranes and lifting operations, and management of lifting equipment maintenance at Grane comply with the regulations.
Grane is an oilfield east of the Balder field in the central North Sea. Water depth is 128 metres. The field has been developed using a fixed integrated production, drilling and accommodation facility with a steel jacket. The facility has 40 well slots.
Result
Non-conformities were identified in connection with:
- Lifting operations on the pipe deck
- Lifting gear
- Maintenance
- Temporary lifting facility
- Scaffolding
In addition, improvement points were identified in connection with:
- Checking of lifting equipment
- Unprotected cable ducts
- Oil mist from offshore cranes
- Steel rope certificates
Statoil has been given a deadline of 3 August 2015 to report on how the non-conformities and improvement points will be dealt with.
Non-conformity:
Entails that a condition is assessed as not complying with a regulatory requirement.
Improvement point:
Entails that we have identified a deficiency or weakness, without there being sufficient grounds for determining a breach of regulatory requirements.
