The main objective has been to obtain temperature-dependent thermal data for passive fire protection materials to be able to perform fire-technical calculations of application thickness. This is particularly challenging for swelling materials where the K value varies during heat exposure.
The report proposes a method which includes a test oven and mathematical analyses of the sample to determine the thermal properties.
The plan is now to construct a test oven and test the proposal. Furthermore, we are considering proposing a joint industry project for the future work.
The testing method and the results of the project so far will be presented at a conference in Italy in March.
