Priority areas

The main priorities for 2013 define areas to which the industry, in the PSA’s view, must pay particular attention during the coming year.

They have been selected on the basis of the PSA’s knowledge of and experience with the petroleum sector, and are clearly anchored in the risk picture facing this business.

	Barriers Safety barriers must be maintained in an integrated and consistent manner in order to minimise risk. Read more
	Management and major accident risk Management at all levels of the industry must work to reduce major accident risk, and ensure that these efforts are pursued in a coherent manner. Read more
	Groups at particular risk The companies must reduce the threat of injury and illness for groups particularly exposed to such risks by continuing to develop operating parameters and to adopt specific measures. Read more
	Natural environment The industry must work purposefully to prevent accidents which can cause acute discharges. Read more
