Consent to use Valhall PCP beyond the planned lifetime

06.10.2011 | BP Norge AS (BP) has received consent for the extended use of the PCP process facility on Valhall, beyond the design lifetime.

BP has received consent to use PCP (pictured) until 31 December 2011.

The Valhall Redevelopment (VRD) project was initiated as a consequence of subsidence and ageing of the QP living quarters facility, the DP drilling facility and the PCP process facility.

This entails, among other things, the installation of a new integrated process and living quarters platform (PH), which was scheduled to become operational in 2010.

Due to delays, the planned date for removing PCP from operations must be postponed until 2012.

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted BP consent to use PCP until 1 September 2012.
