Consent to conduct manned underwater operations

31.01.2007 | The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted Esso Norge AS, Norsk Hydro Produksjon AS, Statoil ASA and Gassco AS consent to conduct manned underwater operations (MUO) in 2007 and 2008.

The application for consent covers diving activities that Statoil, Esso, Hydro and Gassco (hereinafter referred to as "the companies") will carry out in 2007 and 2008.

DSV Wellservicer

The application relates to implementation of planned and not planned MUO with the vessel DSV Wellservicer (pictured) and workboats pursuant to the contract between Statoil and Technip Norge AS.

"The companies" will carry out the activities applied for, as well as not planned activities (such as emergency response diving) pursuant to a joint venture agreement between the operators. Statoil is the Technical Service Provider (TSP) for diving activities that Gassco will conduct.

This consent covers such activities carried out on the pipelines "the companies" are responsible for, including also pipelines on foreign shelves that fall under Norwegian jurisdiction.

If such assignments must be executed by other players than Technip Norge AS, "the companies" will apply for a separate consent.

We emphasize that information regarding planned and not planned activities will be submitted to the PSA well in advance of the diving operation.
