The consent applies to drilling of exploration well 2/5-13, which is located in the southern North Sea approx. 20 kilometres north-east of the Ekofisk Centre (see map).

Location of the well

The well is part of production license 296/355 and has the following geographical coordinates:

N 56° 42' 03.6",  E 03° 23' 27.0". The water depth at the site is 65 metres.

StatoilHydro will use the jack-up drilling facility West Epsilon, which is operated by Seadrill Offshore AS (Seadrill), Stavanger, to drill the well.

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway granted an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) for West Epsilon on 14 February 2003.
