Consent to conduct exploration drilling with Songa Dee – well 16/1-12

30.06.2009 | Consent: Lundin Norway AS (Lundin) has been granted consent to conduct exploration drilling in the southern part of the North Sea with the mobile facility Songa Dee.

The consent applies to drilling of exploration well 16/1-12 which belongs to production licence 338. A sidetrack might also be drilled.

The well has the following geographical coordinates:

N 58° 48' 22.48",  E 02° 15' 50.73". The water depth at the site is approx. 107 metres.

According to the plan, the drilling activity is to start at the end of June 2009. The activity has a planned duration of 74 days, including well testing.

Songa Dee

Songa Dee (formerly Stena Dee) is a semi-submersible mobile drilling facility of the type "Mitsubishi  MD-602". It was completed in 1984.

The facility, which is owned and operated by Songa Management AS in Stavanger, received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in June 2009 (link).
