Consent to conduct exploration drilling with Mærsk Guardian – well 9/2-11

25.11.2009 | Consent: Talisman Energy Norway AS (Talisman) has been granted consent to conduct exploration drilling in the Yme area with the mobile facility Mærsk Guardian.

The consent applies to the drilling of exploration well 9/2-11 which belongs to production licence 316 DS.

Lcation of the well

The well is located about 110 kilometres southwest of Egersund and 11 kilometres north of the Yme field (see map). Well 9/2-11 has the following geographical coordinates:

N 57° 55' 12.22",  E 04° 33' 35.07". The water depth at the site is about 100 metres.

Start-up is planned for November/December 2009. The drilling activity has an estimated duration of about 50 days.

Mærsk Guardian is a jack-up drilling facility built in 1986. It is operated by Maersk Drilling Norge AS. The facility received a renewed Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in March 2007 (link).
