The audit opened with a meeting in Sandsli where the agenda and the test programme were presented. In addition to verifications and testing of the safety systems, talks were carried out with the relevant personnel.
The following was brought into focus during the audit:
Background for the audit
The PSA is to provide the framework for the players in the petroleum industry and ensure that they maintain a high standard with regard to health, environment, safety and emergency preparedness, and through this also contribute to creating the greatest possible value for the society.
The PSA shall contribute to reducing the risk levels in the offshore petroleum industry by ensuring that the players facilitate a technical and operational integrity and by following up the interaction between man/technology/organisation in HSE-critical systems.
Electrical systems and safety systems constitute an important part of a facility's technical barrier and an efficient safeguarding of these is vital to maintain an acceptable risk level.
Purpose of the audit
The purpose of the activity was to confirm that Norsk Hydro plans, manages and executes its activities in accordance with the current rules and regulations (health, safety and environment regulations in the petroleum industry) and in accordance with the recognised standards related to operation and maintenance of electrical and technical safety systems.
Results from the audit
The general impression is that Troll B is a well-maintained facility and that the electrical installations are satisfactory.
This impression is based on verifications, talks with platform personnel and document reviews.
No non-conformities from our regulatory requirements were discovered. However, we did register some conditions with potential for improvement.
