Audit of final documentation for construction safety on Yme

08.02.2010 | Audit: On 19 January 2010, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) audited Talisman Energy Norge AS (Talisman). The audit was related to the weight documentation for Yme.

Background for the audit
The background for the audit was that the work on the supporting structures on Yme is approaching completion, and that Talisman is planning to apply for consent to use the facility.

Previously, audits have been conducted in relation to the engineering of supporting structures on Yme and in relation to the fabrication of the legs.

In this audit, emphasis was placed on reviewing documentation related to parts of the structure we have not previously audited.

On 25 and 26 June 2009, the PSA audited the final documentation related to construction safety at the Yme facility.

It was not possible at the time to check the weight documentation, and this therefore took place on 19 January 2010.

The audit took place in the premises of SBM and GustoMSC in Rotterdam. This audit report only deals with the latter part of the audit.

Purpose of the audit
The purpose of the audit was to verify that the documentation for construction safety complied with the regulations.

We reviewed the weight documentation from the supplier, the weight report from GustoMSC and construction analyses related to the starboard crane, a separator, a gas compressor, the living quarters module and a jack housing.

Result of the audit
Potential improvements were identified in connection with the lack of correlation between the weight documentation, the weight report and the construction analyses.
