The audit took place at the CCB shipyard in Ågotnes where the facility was moored for five-year main classification and other upgrades.
The audit activities were carried out through document reviews, interviews and verifications on board the facility.
Background for the audit
Borgland Dolphin (photo) is a mobile semi-submersible drilling facility originally constructed as a flotel in 1977 and rebuilt as a drilling facility in 1998-99. The facility has been operating on the Norwegian Shelf and received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in 2004.

Purpose of the audit
The purpose of the audit was to verify that the managerial and technical conditions within selected areas of drilling and logistics on Borgland Dolphin were safeguarded in accordance with the regulatory requirements.
The verification was conducted on the basis of the AoC application and follow-up, information from Dolphin AS submitted prior to the audit and information provided on board the facility during the verification.
Result of the audit
Reconstruction, upgrades and maintenance activities were conducted on the facility during the audit.
Non-conformities and items of improvement were identified relating to drilling, well technology and logistics.
