Does Norway have a purposeful oil industry which makes proper use of its knowledge? Do the companies take a planned approach to reducing risk, give priority to safety and ensure continuous improvement? That is their definite duty.

Norway’s goal is that its petroleum sector will be the world leader for health, safety and the environment. The parties have an obligation to help fulfil the government’s ambition – both individually and collectively.

A strong supervisory authority is a cornerstone of the Norwegian model. At the same time, the roles of employers and employees are clear and well communicated. Or are they?

We will be working to highlight responsibility even further. The PSA will strengthen supervision. The companies will safeguard and secure progress.
