Interpretations

Interpretations

An interpretation is a statement from the authorities on how the legislation or provisions in the regulations should be understood and is thus a guidance on how the party responsible may adhere to the regulations.

Interpretations refer generally to how to meet provisions in the regulations. Interpretations give an answer to how the legislation should be understood, and interpreting is done when dealing with concrete matters like applications for consent, exemptions etc.

The interpretations were removed temporarily since new/revised regulations entail a change of refer-to-links etc. In addition, some of the interpretations have been incorporated into the revised guidelines regarding the regulations, by means of additional clarification. In additon, some of the earlier interpretations are not relevant today.

NOTE: Almost all of the interpretations are in Norwegian, hence the English interpretations-of-regulations pages are linked to the Norwegian ones.
