The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has sent identical letters to operating companies regarding the status of temporarily abandoned wells on the Norwegian continental shelf, as well as future plans for these wells.
Questions have recently been raised regarding the suitability of lifeboats for evacuation during bad weather. In a letter sent to all operators and shipping companies with facilities on the Norwegian shelf, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has therefore asked the industry for answers regarding how the companies are handling this information to ensure that their own activities are carried out in a prudent manner.
The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has issued a notification of order regarding deployment arrangements for evacuation equipment and means of rescue to a number of players in the petroleum activities on the Norwegian Shelf. The notification has been issued in the form of an identical letter to the industry.
