The supervisory activity was conducted as a meeting with Gassco at the LRF terminal in Easington, including a site inspection of the pig receiving facilities inside the terminal.
From 1st October 2011 Gassco took over the full responsibility for the operation of the LRF terminal. A joint supervisory activity between PSA and HSE was carried out in January 2012. As a follow up of that activity it was decided to carry out a supervisory activity to verify some outstanding issues.
The supervision was to be conducted in accordance with agreements between British and Norwegian authorities, and to demonstrate compliance with the HSE Pipeline Safety Regulations of 1996 and the PSA Management and Activities Regulations of 2011.
The objectives of the supervisory activity were Gasscos follow-up and safety management for the pipeline including associated installations and terminal in Easington.
