Audit of Total E&P Norge AS – Martin Linge

Between 12 and 13 November 2013, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of electrical installations in Total E&P Norge AS's (Total) development project for the Martin Linge production (PDQ) installation.

The objective of the audit was to monitor that Total, in partnership with Technip and other stakeholders, was complying with the preconditions in the PDO, applicable regulations, standards and Total's own requirements.

The audit placed particular emphasis on the preparation, implementation and visibility of the electrical installations' specific barrier functions, barrier elements, performance requirements and performance-influencing factors from a life-cycle perspective.

Two non-conformities were identified in connection with:

  • risk-reduction principles
  • barrier management

In addition, two improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • organisation, roles and responsibilities
  • the emergency generator unit
